Rita Maniego’s quest for a better life started after obtaining her Bachelor of Secondary Education in the Philippines in 2005. When she had completed five years in a food services contract in Dubai, she came to Canada in 2012 where she was employed in the hotel industry.
Once she became a permanent resident in Canada, she sponsored her daughter and mother. Learning never stopped as Rita obtained two diplomas from Robertson College, first as a Heath Care Aide in 2016 and then as an Administrative Professional & Bookkeeper in 2018.
Rita’s first experience at Preferred Client Services was as a practicum student – the last step in the diploma program. “Once I completed my practicum, PCS offered me a full-time position,” said Rita.
Determination, an openness to learning and hard work have helped Rita succeed. “I look forward to learning something new every day. I get excited when I follow the money trail and am able to balance the numbers!”
She appreciates the approachability of the PCS team who are always ready to answer her questions and help her as she tackles the daily challenges she’s given.
Social time on weekends with her family and community is very important to Rita. She loves to garden and to cook. Once her kids are tucked in bed, she relaxes with a good book or a movie.
