Team Bios

Although Mariia Shytova planned to become an interpreter, she took her mom’s advice and enrolled in an accounting program. That’s when she discovered that she’s a numbers person. Her studies earned her a Master’s degree in Accounting and Audit.

Along with a friend, she moved from Ukraine to Canada in March of 2023. “It must be in my genes, because quite a few of my family, including past generations migrated to different countries around the world.”

An avid self-learner, Mariia can easily focus for long periods of time. She also has a special talent for spotting errors. “Detecting or searching for mistakes comes easily to me.” Detail-oriented, she strives for accuracy in her work. Fluent in Russian and Ukrainian, Mariia also speaks Polish and English.

The friendly PCS environment has helped Mariia become comfortable very quickly. “It’s easy to get the answers I need. And the variety of clients is amazing.”

Back in Ukraine, Mariia loved to sew her own clothes. She also enjoyed white-water rafting, so she’s researching Alberta adventures. The cooking tutorials on YouTube have caught her attention, especially the ones about curing meat and making sausages. Don’t be surprised if there are edible treats showing up at the office!
