Preferred Client Services is pleased to welcome aboard Christopher Steckly as the Director of Operations and I.T. His new role at PCS is two-fold. Chris is not only in charge of day-to-day operations and staff workflow allocation; his other priority is Information Technology (I.T.).
In 2002, Christopher earned an Honors with distinction diploma as a Network & Internet Support Specialist from CDI College. He gained a wealth of knowledge and experience through a variety of technical and management assignments with Atco I-Tek, a company with a multi-national reach. “When systems go down, you have to act fast; and you have to know how to spot the problems and then solve them,” said Chris.
No stranger to the bookkeeping world either because of his mother’s profession, Chris remembers posting receipts on the Dynamics program to earn his spending money at age 11. Currently enrolled in the last level of Bookkeeping at NAIT, he is growing his knowledge the old-fashioned way. “It’s just paper, pencil, and an eraser. With that solid base of understanding, it’s easier to find a fix when computerized accounting programs aren’t working properly.”
At PCS, Chris finds it exciting to solve the variety of daily challenges that come his way. “We have a great team here. One of my goals is orchestrating the transition from paper to automation so the work flow is faster and smoother.”
Away from work, Chris takes a break from computers by going to the gym with his wife, Melissa. They swim with their daughter, Ruby and take her skating in the winter. “I’m an avid skier,” says Chris, “so I plan to teach her how to ski this year.”
